New Radicals je grupa iz Los Anđelesa. Objavila je samo jedan album „Maybe you’ve been brainwashed too“ 1998. godine. Snimila su ga dvoje muzičara koji su ušli u muzičke vode kao duo: Gregg Alexander (vokal, gitara) i Danielle Brisebois (prateći vokal, klavir), uz obilatu pomoć dvadesetak studijskih muzičara.

„You get what you give“ je pesma koja je objavljena kao prvi singl sa pomenutog albuma. Napisali su je Gregg Alexander i Richard Knowels (prateći vokal i klavijature).

“Goodnight Moon” je pesma koju je snimila grupa Shivaree. Nalazi se na njihovom debitantskom albumu „I oughtta give you a shot in the head for making me live in this dump“ (1999). Objavljena je i na singlu sledeće godine. Napisali su je Ambrosia Parsley (vokal) i Duke McVinnie (gitara). Treći član grupe je bio Danny McGough (klavijature). Pesma je postigla veliki uspeh, a i sama grupa je postala popularna zahvaljujući njoj. Korišćena je u mnogim televizijskim serijama i filmovima. Da pomenem samo film „Kill Bill 2“ (nalazi se na zvaničnom saundtreku objavljenom na CD-u).

Grupa Shivaree je snimila četiri studijska albuma tokom deset godina zajedničkog rada. Pamtimo ih po odličnoj pesmi „Goodnight Moon“.

„Children of the Sun“ je pesma grupe Dead Can Dance. Objavljena je kao prva na njihovom osmom studijskom albumu “Anastasis”  2012. godine. To im je prva ploča nakon dugogodišnje pauze (šesnaest godina od prethodnog albuma odn. četrnaest od prestanka zajedničkog rada). U tom periodu okupili su se samo jednom zbog svetske turneje.

Lisa Gerrard i Brendan Perry, koji su osnovali grupu, nastavili su saradnju na albumu “Anastasis”. Zajedno su napisali sve pesme, uključujući i sjajnu “Children of the Sun”. Inače, Dead Can Dance je zvanično duo od njihovog drugog albuma.

Snimila je odlična ekipa poznatih muzičara: Grover Washington Jr. (saksofon), Eric Gale (gitara), Marcus Miller (bas), Steve Gadd (bubnjevi), Richard Tee (električni klavir), Ralph MacDonald (konga, razne udaraljke), Robert Greenidge (metalni bubnjevi „steelpan“) i kao gost Bill Withers (vokal). Hilda Harris, Yvonne Lewis i Ullanda McCullough su prateći vokali u ovoj sjajnoj pesmi.

„Just the two of us“ se svrstava u R&B (ritam i bluz), soul, džez, fank… Muzički stilovi su savršeno ukomponovani u remek delo od sedam ipo minuta. Zvanično je objavljena i singl verzija, ali pravo i istinsko uživanje pruža preslušavanje pesme koja se nalazi na albumu. Savršenstvo!

Donald Fagen (vokal, klavijature) i Walter Becker (gitara, bas) osnovali su grupu Steely Dan 1971. godine. Prvi album „Can’t buy a thrill“ objavljuju sledeće godine. Privlače veliku pažnju i publike i kritike svojim pesmama i aranžmanima, u kojima sjajno kombinuju muzičke stilove, u nekada mnogo popularni tzv. džez-rok. Na ploči se nalazi nekoliko odličnih pesama: „Reelin’ in the years“, „Change of the guard“, „Midnite cruiser“ i sjajna „Do it again“ koja je prva na A strani. To je svakako najbolja i najpopularnija pesma koju su Fagen i Becker zajedno napisali.

Jedan od najlepših bluzeva ikada snimljenih, imao je svoju premijeru na ploči objavljenoj 1972. godine.

„I’ll play the blues for you“ napisao je Jerry Beach 1969 godine. Geater Davis je snimio ovu pesmu iste godine, ali taj tonski zapis nije objavljen (smatra se tzv. demo snimkom). Tri godine kasnije je po prvi put zvanično objavljena na ploči. Albert King je snimio album „I’ll play the blues for you“ na kome se nalazi istoimena pesma kao prva na A strani. Zbog trajanja od preko sedam minuta, dodato je u nazivu“Part 1-2″ jer je iste godine objavljena i singl verzija. Možda nije popularna i poznata kao neki tzv. bluz standardi, ali je u izvođenju Albert King-a – predivna. Snimili su je i mnogi drugi muzičari zaljubljenici u bluz, među kojima su Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa, Melvin Taylor, Vargas Blues Band, Bryan Lee, Corey Stevens, Daniel Castro…
